How Gel-X works
Gel-X uses pre-shaped, full-cover soft-gel tips attached with a gel system and cured. The tips create length and shape across the entire nail. Aprés describes its Gel-X system as soft gel and soak-off.
How acrylic works
Traditional acrylic uses liquid monomer and powder polymer that combine and harden. A technician can sculpt it or apply it over tips. Acrylic is known for customization and rigidity, but it is a different product family from Gel-X.
Feel, maintenance and removal
Many guests choose Gel-X for a lighter-feeling, consistently shaped extension. Acrylic may appeal to people who prefer a sculpted, rigid system. Both require professional application and careful maintenance. Gel-X is designed as a soak-off soft-gel system; removal should still be performed patiently and never forced.
